Sewing Pattern - Niki Top - Atelier Bernie
What we love: A real crush on the square neckline, so modern and feminine!
The Niki top is named after the creator of the famous Nanas, Niki de Saint Phalle. She described them as "freed from marriage and masochism" and they are part of Niki's engaged and feminist work. This self-taught artist used her art as a weapon to denounce and fight against patriarchy, racial segregation, and for people living with AIDS.
Niki is a knit top pattern, characterized by a round or square neckline finished with a neckband, and a button placket at the center front.
Two sleeve options are offered, long or short.
The top can be sewn in hip length or as a crop top.
It's a wardrobe basic that you can endlessly adapt in plain, floral, or even glittery fabrics. It will be perfect as a little summer top in cotton jersey, or as a little cardigan in thicker knit for winter.
In short, it's a knit project that's super quick to make, and above all, very comfortable!
