We want to support French industry, preserve our expertise, and believe in a local, beautiful, and sustainable product.
It was from this desire that Atelier VingtSept was born, a French fabric brand designed to inspire, create, and pass on.
An adventure born at twenty-seven
The name? You chose it with us on Instagram (thank you all!).
Twenty-seven was the age of a wild desire to create differently.
An "atelier" (workshop) is also the place where everything comes to life: our exclusive fabrics, our limited-edition collections, our orders prepared by hand each week with care.
Atelier VingtSept is also a family story.
The adventure began thanks to my family ties with a printer in the Rhône region, at the heart of a historic textile area.
This proximity gave me a taste for beautiful materials and quality craftsmanship, but also an awareness of the challenges these workshops face today.
It is this intimate bond that still drives me: helping to preserve French expertise and giving new life to yardage produced here, in the Rhône region and by other French manufacturers.
Each month, on the 7th, our new capsules are born: designer fabrics conceived in small runs, made in France or Europe, for unique projects.
These collections are available on our online shop and through lovely partner fabric stores.
Create less, but better
At Atelier VingtSept, we believe in wardrobes that are built slowly,
in sewing as an act of love and freedom.
Our fabrics are designed to last and inspire: to be sewn, worn, and worn again.
We design responsible collections, in partnership with local French and European textile industries, to combine style and conscience. And we produce on-demand for our partner fabric stores. The idea is to produce as close to needs and desires as possible and avoid overproduction at all costs.

A sewing concept store full of wonderful discoveries
Atelier Vingt-Sept is more than just a fabric brand:
it is a sewing concept store where you can find everything to create a complete garment.
From exclusive fabrics and patterns from French designers like Cha'Coud, Ma Petite Fabrique, Maëli, to the associated haberdashery: thread, buttons, ribbons, everything is there.
Recently, we added our soft and natural wools to also inspire knitters while keeping our French heart.
Our use of artificial intelligence
At Atelier 27, we consider artificial intelligence a tool at the service of creativity, never as a replacement for it.
We occasionally use AI tools to assist us with certain communication tasks: writing content for our website or social media, marketing, creating certain digital assets, and producing visual inspiration to help you better envision your future sewing projects.
However, all Atelier 27 collections, their themes, colors, and patterns are imagined and drawn by real illustrators or graphic designers. Our fabrics are the result of human creative work, nurtured by a passion for textiles and sewing.
When we create inspiration visuals using AI, our goal is to help you imagine a fabric once sewn, to explore different pairings, or to make choosing your next project easier. These images are sources of inspiration and never replace photographs of our fabrics or garments that have actually been made.
We believe in a responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence: a tool that allows us to better support you, while preserving what makes up the identity of Atelier 27, original creation and human expertise.
A committed and joyful brand
Because every action counts, our team is evolving how we operate:

We now ship 1 to 2 times a week to limit the impact of transport.

Our packaging is reusable or compostable, from the twine to the envelope or pouch.

And since our beginnings, all our printing has been French, in the Rhône-Alpes region, and our viscoses are made in Portugal.
This is our way of participating, at our level, in more respectful fashion.
Because a happy fabric is a fabric that lives between your hands — much more than a bolt waiting quietly on a shelf. (Yes, a bit like that last kernel of corn in the commercial that cries in the can!)
And since 2025, I have been lucky enough to be joined by Marion, a sewing friend with incredible talent.
Together, we imagine, sew, prepare your orders, and always dream a little bigger.
