Pouch Pattern - Nicole Shirt - Atelier Bernie
What we love: The multiple collar options to pair (or not) with the cuff bracelets, allowing you to unleash your creativity and create unique garments!
"The Nicole shirt is named after one of my beloved grandmothers. Nicole already embodies the brand as she makes up part of its name alongside Bernadette, but I wanted to pay her a very special tribute with this pattern. It's thanks to her and my grandfather's help since my beginnings that I can still offer you sewing patterns today and live my passion. I know how much she will be proud to know that one of my patterns bears her name, so let me introduce you to the Nicole shirt pattern."
It's a rather loose-fitting shirt model, with a double collar inspired by the last century. I had in mind a nightgown seen in a period series whose name I can't remember. I wanted to reinterpret several collar shapes in this model, to make it a versatile shirt that you can have fun with.
You can choose to sew it with two collars of the same shape, small and large, or combine two collars of different sizes and shapes.
A version with a simple collar is also possible, as is a collarless version, finished with a collar stand.
The long sleeve cuffs are also available in three styles: a classic one, a rounded one, and a pointed one to echo (or not) the chosen collar shape.
The sleeves are puffed but not excessively so. They can also be sewn short with a simple hem or a cuff bracelet for a more romantic look.
The doubled shoulder yoke allows for beautiful finishes, paired with French seams for a perfect result. You can, of course, choose to make classic seams with overlock stitches.
Finally, two lengths are offered: a tunic version and a shorter, straighter version.
You will not need a serger.
